**Review** "Things I Meant To Say"
Derek Sivers
Cd Baby
Stretching the jazz palette into the softness of acoustic folk and
the accessible warmth of pop, Fleming's voice carries melody with
unusual resonance; she knows how to draw out the sensuality within a
line, how to stretch notes like pulling taffy. Backed by the supple
voice of guitar, light strings, humming bass, and a number of other
featured instrumentalists, Jeni's sweet delivery, reminiscent of
Norah Jones, makes for a distinct album as colorful and expressive as
the seasons. Within one breath, she can cast a spell that leaves her
listener holding his breath, simply by pushing on the subtleties one
least expects, letting the mysteries swirl and slide off her release.
Truly, this is a generous and bountiful album.
